Next, head to Lizard Log playground in the Western Sydney Parklands. A magical playground for kids, the play equipment is integrated with its natural bushland setting. Tree stumps act as balancing beams while lizard-like logs are great for climbing on. With picnic tables and BBQ facilities, it’s easy to settle in for hours of fun.

Take a short stroll up the hill to Pimelea Hilltop Lookout for views over the surrounding suburbs, and if you’re up for it, continue on to The Dairy, a 20-minute walk away. A short drive along Cowpasture Road brings you to Calmsley Hill City Farm. Once part of the Big Brother Movement, from 1947 young British migrants were trained here in agricultural work. Some of that history remains, where you can see farm and native animals, along with farming shows and demonstrations, perfect for a fun, educational visit.

For an adventurous outdoor activity, Treetops Adventure has a junior tree ropes course for kids, with the adults course spread across elevated platforms high up in the trees – not for the faint hearted!
