Wentworth Point largely sits on reclaimed land within the Homebush Bay area. Partly Greater Western Sydney, for some apart of the Inner West it is part of the traditional lands of the Wann clan, known as the Wann-gal. These lands stretched along the southern shore of the Parramatta River between Cockle Bay (Cadi-gal land) and Rose Hill (Burramatta-gal land). The Wann-gal have lived in the Homebush Bay area for thousands of years.
Today Wentworth Point is a neatly nestled pocket of land surrounded by nature including the Parramatta River and the natural and man-made landscapes of Homebush Bay. Once known as North Lidcombe it is a modern village made up of elegant high-rise apartments that sit beautifully within this landscape. As a destination, it is on the doorstep of everything that the Sydney Olympic Park has to offer and is therefore full of activity and is easily accessible by Sydney Rivercat.
Start your day stepping off at the Sydney Olympic Park Rivercat terminal. The trip is idyllic and incredibly well connected to some much public transport. Surrounding you immediately will be a collection of well-designed towers. We love the way the colours and tones, materials and textures reflect the natural landscape. This is a very green suburb, the layers of trees, shrubs and groundcovers help to crate a sense of place and draw you in along shaded streets and walkways.
The River Walk begins the moment you step of the Sydney Rivercat and draws you directly into Marina Square. This is a place full of colour, flavour and is the obvious heart of the community. This precinct has a variety of great eateries from Japanese to Turkish and Korean. Try out Pier Point,  Leaf Café & Co or Cuto Kids Café (with the most incredible indoor playground for children) for your morning coffee.
Looking for activities, well the nearby Sydney Olympic Park is bursting with them. Try out the Monster BMX & Mountain X, or, why not try your hand at some Archery. For something next level the very cool URBNSURFÂ Sydney. All of these activities abut the southern end of Wentworth Park. For something a little quieter, try a walk with the very dog friendly Millennium Parklands and make your way to Woo-la-ra with a breathtaking view of the city skyline or explore Wentworth Common and the very sculptural Bay Marker.
Back into Wentworth Point and you will be ready for something delicious to eat. Here you are once again spoilt for choice. Burger Point is as the names suggest on point; Bosphorus Turkish Street Food seems to be endlessly busy with the hustle and bustle of a local favourite; The Dancing Bear is a little venue we have visited before serving up great cocktails and a lively atmosphere. Brother Katsu and Gogi Wang are serving up some great Korean flavours.
For some authentic Chinese fare, head to Chi Lin Restaurant. This favourite of discerning Wentworth Point locals is at the front of an incredibly colourful Grocery store, Zetciti, packed full of kiosks for trying some of the fine foods on offer.  The colourful neon lights and view over the open kitchen create another layer of energy and excitement. Try the Roast Duck, one of the most popular dishes served here and take a seat in the Marina concourse to take in the atmosphere. Grab yourself some Lotus cakes of local traditional Chinese favourites from the front of the store for your trip home.
A day out in Wentworth Point is full of colour, delight and the unexpected. This very tranquil, scenic corner of Western Sydney is well worth a visit and so very easy to get to. With so much to see and do, it will have you coming back for more. It’s just a stone’s throw from Sydney Olympic Park and you can see why it’s a popular and sort after location to live.
